Mr. Theodore Lewis Watson born August 26, 1935 of Auburn passed away on Sunday morning January 23, 2022 surrounded by loving family. Those who remain to embrace the memories of his life are his loving wife, Gladys Riddle Watson, son Greg (Debra) Watson, son , Stephen ( Julie) Watson, daughter Barbara (Bud) Watson Brassell, Randy (Lynn) Sides, Tonya Sides Nichols, Dale ( Tammy) Sides, brother, John Watson, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Those that have preceded him in death are his first wife, Louise Pesta Watson, his infant son, Robert Scott Watson and his parents, Tellis L. and Mae Frantz Watson.
Mr. Watson honorably served in the United States Air Force for twenty one years. Following military retirement, he had a second career with the Alabama State Department of Education.
Mr. Watson was an avid fan of the Auburn Basketball community and recently published a book celebrating the rise of Auburn basketball. He was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Ted lived his life to the fullest. He celebrated his daily life as a Christian and spread smiles and conversation to all he met.
Funeral services for Mr. Theodore Lewis Watson will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Jan 29, 2022. The family will receive friends at 10:00am. A funeral mass will follow at 11am. The service will be officiated by Celebrants Monsignor Michael Farmer and Monsignor Bill Skoneki. There will be a graveside service featuring military honors following the funeral mass at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery Al.
