Shirley K Grimes

Shirley Ann Grimes (Kilpatrick), age 76, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 17, 2024. She was born in Andalusia, Alabama on March 31, 1948 to Earnest and Aline Kilpatrick. She was the baby of the family being the 11th child. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Shirley met Terry Allen Grimes Sr. and they married on September 30, 1967. They lived several places with military life then settled back in Andalusia to raise a family. Belinda Ann Grimes was born 1969 and Terry Allen Grimes, Jr., 1973. In 1978, the family moved to Montgomery, Alabama for Terry, Sr.'s job. Shirley worked many jobs during her life, mostly being part time till the kids were high school graduates. She loved being home when the kids came home from school. Shirley retired from working five years ago and began enjoying life doing whatever she pleased!

Shirley is survived by her husband, Terry Grimes, Sr.; her two children, Belinda Mogan and Terry Grimes, Jr.; son-in-law, Matthew Mogan; daughter-in-law, Tina Hatfield; three grandchildren, Trey Grimes and Jacob and Jenna Mogan; step-grandson, JC Swindle; step-granddaughter; Charleigh Raye Hatfield, as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A public visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM, 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
