Robert Stanley “Stan” Phillips, Jr., age 56 passed away on March 18, 2018. He was born in Illinois on March 1, 1962. Stan enjoyed playing golf, kayaking, hiking, and playing guitar. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution and participated in various activities held by the National Kidney Foundation.
Stan is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Gay Phillips. He is survived by his father, Col. Robert Stanley Phillips and his wife Hazel; his daughter, Taylor M. Phillips; his former wife, Cindy Phillips; his sister, Genie Phillips Goodreault, her husband Joe and their children Elise, Madeline, and Joey; and his faithful companion Buddy the Beagle.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Stan to the National Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice.
