Robert Buel Golden

Robert B. Golden, age 81, of Montgomery, went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2021 while surrounded by his wife and family. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Army National Guard Service and served 42 years. He was also employed as a civilian by the Army National Guard and retired after 30 years and was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Irving Buel Golden and Lula Pearl Golden, two brothers William Finley “Bill” Golden and James Irvin “Ray” Golden and a sister Doris Pearl Golden.

He is survived by his wife Janice Elaine Sheppard Golden, a daughter Cynthia Golden McGuire (Ed Paul), two grandsons Edward Paul “Trey” McGuire III, and Robert Jackson McGuire and a brother Douglas McAuthur Golden.

Robert enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and football but his greatest joy was helping people. The family would like to express a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, Right at Home and Physicians Choice Dialysis.

A family and friends visitation for Mr. Golden will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leak Memory, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
