Born on January 15, 1948, Karen was the daughter of Louie R. and Pauline Buschmann, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Spillers.
Karen devoted her life to her family, especially her grandson, Lee Spillers, who survives her. She also leaves behind two sisters, Sue Dismukes and Annice Cain, who will miss her dearly.
Karen proudly retired from the State of Alabama, where she served as Office Manager in the Legal Division of the Department of Industrial Relations. Her dedication left a lasting impact on those she worked with over the years.
A private family graveside service was held on April 22, 2025, and was officiated by her cousin, Pastor Randy Newman, honoring Karen’s life with heartfelt remembrance and prayer.
