Melita Payne Watson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melita Payne Watson of Pike Road on December 21, 2022. Melita has been reunited in heaven with her parents T.L. and Mary Payne; and her brother, Ted Payne. She is lovingly remembered on earth by her husband of 49 years Al Watson; her children Kathy Shirah (Danny) and Brent Watson (Emily); siblings Mike Payne and Marilyn Crew; her grandchildren Hunter Shirah (Kristine), Tyler Shirah (Mallory), Reese Watson, and T.J. Watson; her great-grandchildren Easton and Ellie Shirah, and beloved nieces and nephews Leigh Ann Hixon (John), Brad Payne (Karen), Michaelyn Bieber (Scott), and Jesse Crew. Melita’s time here on earth was a life well lived, filled with joy, kindness to others, and a steadfast commitment to family and friends. She was a member of Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev Jonathan Hart officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Leak Memory Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
