Mary Ann Nick

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Luker Nick, age 93, of Montgomery, Alabama who passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. She died peacefully at home with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Albert Thomas Nick, Sr., her children, Deborah Simpson (Curtis), Sandra Norrell (Robert), and Nancy Evans (Ronnie). She leaves behind grandchildren, Nicole O'Donnell (Patrick), Jennifer Robinson (Jeff), Jessica Watson (Brad), Josh Evans, Sarah Carnazza (Vinny), and Matthew Evans. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Logan Jordan, John Robinson, Cora Robinson, Jackson Watson, and Vinny Carnazza. Proceeding her in death were her son, Albert Thomas Nick Jr., and grandchildren, Nathaniel Jordan and Levin Nick. Mary Ann was loved by dozens of nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann Nick was born on May 19, 1930, in Sweetwater, Alabama, one of 14 children. Her parents were rural farmers, Bethany and Ellis Luker. She married Al Nick, a Korean War veteran. Together they raised four children as she worked in their family business, Nick Tile Company for many years. She was an active member of St. Bede Catholic Church. She enjoyed the Italian American Club, and the many memories of her travels through her lifetime. Although she will be missed, we know she is rejoicing with her heavenly family.

A friends and family visitation for Mary Ann will be held Monday, July 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens. Father Alex Valladares officiating.
