Mary Eileen Simpson Black, of Montgomery, AL passed away at home on October 29, 2024.
Eileen was born in Juneau, Alaska in 1951 to Lt. Col. Thomas Joseph Simpson and Dorothy Elizabeth Jones Simpson.
She was a teacher in elementary and high schools, and a librarian with the Montgomery City Public Library system for 17 years. She particularly enjoyed directing the children’s summer reading program. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 25 years, Lewis Otis Black. She is survived by her son Michael Joe McFadden, her twin sister Kay Simpson Britt (Ron), her brother Thomas Joseph Simpson, Jr. (Ami) and her sisters Susan Simpson Dull (Rick) and Margaret Simpson Prickett (Paul).
A private reception for family will be held Tuesday afternoon, November 5th, at one o’clock, visitation at two o’clock, at Leak Memory Chapel.
