Joseph Fulton Smith, age 71, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Joseph was born in Langdale, Alabama to Joseph Fulton Smith Sr. and Era Jane Wilson Smith. Joe moved from Alex City to Montgomery and pursued a career in the manufacturing industry. He loved to build and fix things, especially motors. A passion for classic cars fueled his love for NASCAR. An solid understanding of gardening showed up in the way he took great care of his yard. Those who knew him were quick to say that Joe could do whatever he set his mind to do.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr.; his favorite brother-in-law, Jack Sharpe; his daughter, Kayla R. Johnson and baby Memphis. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Ramona Smith; his sister, Lana Sharpe; his son, Brandon K. (Lisa) Smith; his daughters, Melody Leigh (James) Bonny Amber Marie (Billy L.) Rolling, and Brittany LaShae (Terry) Griggs; his grandchildren, Colby Smith, Wesley Bonny, Bradley Alexander, Beth Bonny, Alexis Smith, Audrey Smith, Kenneth Farmer, Gage Tompkins, Aiden Smith, Camden Williams, Katalina Smith, Logan Griggs and Emily Sutton; as well as several great grandchildren.
A family and friends visitation for Joe will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Service will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Mark Osgood of Perry Hill Global Methodist Church officiating.
