I met Jeff when he started coming into Thoroughbreds so many years ago! I was the bartender, for the longest I never knew his name so I called him “Budlight” and he got the biggest kick out of it! You will be missed by many! 

JD, this is from your old buddy, Michael Talley. I first met JD in the 7th grade at Georgia Washington Jr. High School. We spent three great/fun years together with numerous other friends/family. I guess truth be known most of us guys shared a mutual envy/jealousy of JD due to his unique ability to always win with the lady's.  JD attempted to teach me how to break dance but was unsuccessful due to my lack of rhythm.  I. Experienced my first cigarette with JD (Marlboro Red) and throughout our juvenile/adult lives enjoyed the occasional adult beverage (Bud Light). Over the past year JD and I had the privilege of keeping in touch through social media and numerous talks on the phone.  Most of the conversations were politically minded as the two of us had become quite conservative in our older years and shared a deep disdain for the current political climate. The conversations were quiet commercial as JD was always able to find humor in everything . In closing I want to say that that I have found as I grow older life has a unique way of testing us all. At times your faith may even be brought into question. I know this better than most as I'm a PK.  One of those short conversations was about our faith. I can't quote the exact words. But to paraphrase "we both felt blessed to have gotten this far and had the joy of family and friends."  JD, you will be sorely missed but never forgotten.  I love you brother, go with the angels.

Jeff was known to follow me around while I was shopping in the grocery store yelling out like the Swamp People, "Get 'em Tracey! Get 'em!"
We'd laugh so hard sometimes that we'd laugh at the way we were laughing! 

Jeff, his dearly loved nephew Jaxon, and me. 
My wish was that Jeff could really feel how much he was loved. 
Now, I believe, he can.

No matter what, I always felt I was home when I was with Jeff. 
Nobody gave better hugs. And I'll never forget those tiny freckles on his hands. I called him My Jeppy. I miss you Jeppy.

I couldn't find a picture of Jeff and his Bear together, but this is Bear on the Sunday after Jeff went to Heaven. Bear has never sat at the foot of my chair like this. I believe he could sense that Jeff had passed.
Jeff loved this dog. He'd travel across town at night to remove a sticker from his paw, buy him Easter baskets, and look forward to taking him on long walks.  He'd even drive Bear around in the car when the weather outside was too cold for a walk. I think he felt Bear's unconditional love and that's what made their relationship so extra special. 

I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason-bringing something we can learn. Jeff changed me for good.

This Christmas Jeff was trying to make me happy by installing a new backsplash. He did. The effort meant far more than he knew to me. He had a sweetness that couldn't be denied.

Much of the time I could talk Jeff into doing things with me that he might not otherwise do. This was a few years ago when we traveled to NYC. We braved the city together riding the subway, biking in Central Park, just hanging out with each other. He always could make me laugh and felt like home to me. I love you forever and ever Jeff! I know you are soaking up all the love in Heaven. My heart is happy for you! Until we meet again sweet man.
