Jean Cagle

Jean Beatty Cagle, age 92, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Jean was born May 25, 1930 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Howard Louis Beatty and Maude Ruby Creech Beatty. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, John E. Cagle; and her sister Betty Jane Beatty. A 1948 graduate of Central High School, Jean was an active member of First Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC where she was a choir member and Sunday School teacher. In Montgomery, she was a faithful part of Heritage Baptist Church.

Her survivors include: daughters Leigh (Sammy) Luster of Montgomery and Lynn (Ronnie) Maiden of Birmingham; grandchildren Crystal Luster (Trip) Strickland, Samantha Luster Shivers, John (Sarah) Maiden, Regina Maiden (Simeon) Blakely; great grandchildren Mary Leighton Strickland, Everleigh Shivers, John Duke Maiden, Sadie Maiden, Anna Elizabeth Blakely and Harrison Maiden.

Pall bearers will be: Lamar Parker, Don Oswalt, Terry Jaquess, George McKinley, Gus McLendon and Lewis Anderson with honorary pall bearers as: Dr. Harold Cox, Dr. Paul Moore, Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class and Saturday Breakfast Club.

A family and friends visitation for Mrs. Cagle will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
