James Tony Holliman

James Tony Holliman (72), a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017. A memorial graveside service will be held at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery in Montgomery on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Mr. Holliman was born September, 21, 1944 in Columbus, MS to the late James Verner Holliman and Eloise Spencer Holliman. He graduated from S.D. Lee high School in Columbus MS and attended Mississippi State University. Tony was a veteran of U.S. Navy and had a successful 30 year career in the life insurance industry as a Regional Manager for Jefferson-Pilot Ins Co. Upon retirement in the field, he also enjoyed a 16 year career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2014.In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Barbara Hamner Holliman.Tony is survived by his sons, Bryan Jeffery Watkins of Newnan, GA, James Matthew Watkins (Heather) of Jacksonville, AL; grandchildren, Mikaela and Kent Watkins; his brother Dennis "Felix" Holliman(Barbara); his sister, Dewanna "Sis" Murrah (Doug); nieces, Amy Holliman Brown (Chris), Angie Murrah Powell (Jon), Susan Barron; nephew, Alex Holliman (Maribeth); along with other loving family and friends.
