Dr. Hubert Theron Montgomery Jr.

Dr. Hubert "Bid" Theron Montgomery Jr., age 88, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Montgomery Sr., and Edna Montgomery; his brothers, Don and Gene, Bid is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Bryans Montgomery; his children, Alfred Peter Montgomery, Sunni Evan Montgomery, Laurel Montgomery Spatz and Amy Montgomery Cravey, as well as 6 grandchildren.

Bid held specialty qualifications as a medical doctor in Family Practice, General Surgery, and Plastic Surgery, where he spent the majority of his medical career. He was also active in developing multiple local businesses and as a board member at River Bank and Trust in Montgomery, AL. In years past he participated in the Luverne, AL Farmer's Co-op. He also traveled extensively, using his fluent Spanish to import wine from South America and during his year serving as the only US based physician to be elected President of the Latin American Plastic Surgery Society.

Bid had widely varied interests from the cerebral to the sportsmanlike. He loved hunting, fishing, farming, and especially training his top-notch bird dogs. He was a whiz at chess, an avid reader, and even built a clock from scratch at one time. If it captured his interest, he set out to do it and do it well.

A family and friends visitation for Bid will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM.
