Helen B. Teel, age 85, passed away after a battle with cancer at her home Friday, March 19, 2010. Mrs. Teel was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Teel. She is survived by two children, Karen (Robert) Sears, Bert (Linda) Teel; three grandchildren, Robyn Sears, AJ Lashley, Ethan Teel; two brothers, Luther Clint Black and Marshall Black. Mrs. Teel worked as a Personnel Clerk for Maxwell Air Force base for 32 years before retiring. Funeral services will be held at Capital Heights United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Sara Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs.Teel was a long time member of Capital Heights United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel on Monday, March 22, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Capital Heights United Methodist Church in her memory.
