Fred William Clark, November 19, 1951 - November 30, 2023, was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in History, and then from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art. Throughout his career he worked as an illustrator for Florida State University, and Senior Editorial Illustrator for the Tallahassee Democrat, as well as numerous free-lance illustrating and graphic design jobs before becoming a professor at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Francis Marion University in South Carolina and then at Lansing Community College in Michigan where he taught until his retirement in 2016.
During his retirement, Fred enjoyed working with the Clinton County Democrats serving on the Communications & Public Outreach Committee and making new and valued friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and relatives around the country. Fred is predeceased by his loving parents, Fred Alexander Clark and Caroline Duane Rountree Clark. He is survived by sister Amy Clark (Florida), brother David Clark, sister-in-law Maureen Bibby, nephews David and Fred Clark (Tennessee), uncle and aunt Charles and Linda Rountree, aunt Nancy Jordan, (Alabama), and cousin, Brian Bullard (Arizona).
A family and friends visitation for Fred will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a celebration of life graveside at 11:00 AM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
