Fannie (Faye) McAfee was born July 22, 1944, and joined Antioch Baptist Church on March 7, 2010, by way of Christian Experience with a letter from Renaissance Baptist Church, Detroit, Michigan, Reverend Edwin H. Holmes, Pastor. As an active member, she sang in the Sanctuary Choir, attended Sunday School and Bible Study.
She was also one of the coordinators of the Singles’ Ministry and remained faithful in attendance until her failing health dictated otherwise. She had a giving heart and relished cooking and sharing her dishes. Often, she was the first to ask, “What can I do?”
Before Fannie relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, she worked at the UAW International Union, in Detroit, Michigan, as a Coordinator, receiving numerous awards for her outstanding achievements.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter Pamela Towns and son, Joseph McAfee; her grandchildren, Yolanda McAfee, Jasmine Adams, Faith Towns, and Brendon Towns.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2020.
