Donell Burton

Mr. Donell Burton, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama departed this life on December 1, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born to the union of Morgan and Mamie Burton on May 14, 1957. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Leak Memory Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Leak Memory Chapel at 12:00PM, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.Donell was preceded in death by his mother; Mamie and Brother Melvin Burton. Don, as he was lovingly known, will be truly missed. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife; Frances Smith Burton, two loving sons, Taureen Brundidge of Moundsville, AL and Tyler Burton of Montgomery and a devoted father Morgan Burton (Vanessa Reed), four caring brothers; Jereland Burton, Wendell Burton and Alvin Burton all of Montgomery, AL and Milton (Pauline)Burton of Birmingham, AL, in-laws are Lee and Mable Smith, two sisters in-law Marietta Smith and Amy McGhee, three brothers in law; Lee Smith, Jr. , Sylvester Smith (Diane) all of Montgomery and Alex (Patricia) Smith of Stone Mountain GA., five aunts; Bertha Minnifield, Bloomfield, CT, Luella Milling, Hartford, CT, Carrie (Joseph) Reynolds, Willie Mae McGhee, and Bernadette McGhee all of Montgomery, one uncle, Leon (Barbara) McGhee of Nashville, TN; devoted nephew, Markel McGhee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Don is also survived by his GE/Sabic family who affectionately called him “Nell”, and a special group of childhood friends, which included Pat, Debra, and Carl, that loved him and were with him until the end.
