Connie Reid Mitchell

Connie Reid Mitchell, age 79, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died peacefully at home on August 3, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Bellamy and Herman Reid, and her stepfather L.C. Bellamy; her brother Ledon Bellamy, her husband, Charles Mitchell, Jr.; and her stepdaughter Denice Graham. She is survived by her children: daughter , Sharon (Clay) Weaver, Montgomery, AL.; daughter Debra Mitchell, Pensacola, FL.; stepdaughter, Susan (Roger) Jones, Panama City Beach, FL.; her grandchildren: step grandson, Anthony Vaughn (Rena) Graham, Dalton, GA.; step granddaughter Brandi (Josh) Paxson, Canton, GA,; step granddaughter Stephanie (Jeff) Heatwole, Canton, GA., grandson, Derrell Vaughn III, Montgomery, AL.; grandson, Davis Vaughn, Montgomery, AL.; granddaughter Wesley (Tal) Turnipseed, Birmingham, AL., and her step great grandson, Lucas Paxson.

Connie was born in Pensacola, Florida on October 19, 1943. She graduated from Pensacola High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. She loved going to the beach, family reunions, her friends, and planting flowers, especially roses. Her wit and funny personality always brought a smile to everyone's face, and she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
