Clarence Wilson Hellums Jr.

He is survived by; daughter Nancy Hellums Woodall; son Josh Hellums; and daughter-in-law Naomi Hellums; sisters: Paula Odom (Al) and Cathy Hicks (Ben); grandchildren: Cole Woodall, Garrett Woodall, Grady Woodall, Molly Hellums, Jack Hellums, Carter Hellums and Oliver Wilson Hellums and his former wife: Charlotte Ann Pilgrim.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Pauline Hellums.

A graduate from Lee High School (Class of '65), Mr. Hellums served in the Air Force after graduation. He returned to enroll at John M. Patterson State Technical College training for a career in the steel industry. A member and officer of the United Steelworkers of America, he was skilled in a variety of capacities within which he worked. A NASCAR and University of Alabama fan, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Sonny loved westerns, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. But he delighted in his grandchildren more than anything.

A visitation for Mr. Hellums will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude with a graveside at Tuskegee Cemetery, Lane Road, Tuskegee, AL.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cole Woodall, Garrett Woodall, Grady Woodall, Jack Hellums, Carter Hellums and Jacob Odom.
