Charles Wesley Parker, 85, of Montgomery died at his home on Monday, June 7, 2010 of Pulmonary Fibrosis and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Edward Parker and Valeria Whatley Parker of Beauregard, AL; his twin brother, Marshall Lesley Parker; his sister, Myrtis Parker Kolen; his wife of 47 years, Emma Laverne Duck Parker of Dadeville, AL and his eldest son, Charles Andrew Parker. He is survived by his present wife, Carrie Simpson Parker; three sons, Jack (Diane) Parker of Trussville, AL, Joe (Alice) Parker of Wesley Chapel, NC, Steve (Sharee) Parker of Montgomery, AL; daughter-in-law, Kathi Parker of Birmingham, AL; two-step-sons, Curtis (Debbie) Simpson of Oxford, AL, Pat (Claudia) Simpson of Orange Beach, AL; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and beloved family member, Ophelia Earnest. Wes was born in Beauregard, AL on October 26, 1924. He served his country in the Navy during WW2. In 1956 he established Wes Parker Heating and Air Conditioning and served countless families until 2005. He was a man of integrity and a disciplined, hard worker. He was trustworthy, honest, humble, kind and sweet, a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. There was nothing he enjoyed more than hunting or fishing with his sons and their families. He loved people and served them in quite, gentle ways. Wes loved Capital Heights Baptist Church and his church loved him. He served as a Trustee, a Deacon and Sunday School Department Director. His pastor, Warren Culver, said ”Wes repeatedly served on the Personnel Committee, the Budget Committee, the Property Committee and the Pulpit Committee. When I needed advise, I could always look to him for Godly wisdom and good, sound judgment.” In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Capital Heights Baptist Church General Fund. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. The funeral will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, June 10, 201 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend J. Warren Culver officiating.
