Charles Tolbert Cole

Charles Tolbert Cole, 90, a resident of Montgomery, AL, died February 24, 2023. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Thorington Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church. Mr. Cole was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a four year honorable discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Thorington Road Baptist Church and the Men's Glory Sunday School Class and a member of the Dixie Lions Club having served in every position that they have. He retired from Chrysler and NASA after 33 years and went on to have his own business PayMaster Systems of Montgomery and retired from it after 33 years of service. Mr. Cole was the last of eight children, he is preceded in death by his seven brothers and sisters and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Janice Cole, daughter Carol Hartley (Mark), stepchildren Frank L. Rutland, IV. and Rebecca Rutland Dement, grandchildren Stephanie Huovinen (Chris), Gary Brown (Dawn), York Holland, Tripp Clark, Eli Clark, Ella Clark, Frank Rutland, V., Jackson Rutland and Preslie Rutland and one great grandchild Anna Huovinen. Pallbearers will be Chris Huovinen, Gary Brown, York Holland,Tripp Clark, Frank Rutland, V., Eli Clark and Jackson Rutland. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his Men's Glory Sunday School Class and members of the Dixie Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thorington Road Baptist Church, 450 Ray Thorington Rd., Montgomery, AL 36117. Alabama Heritage Funeral Home directing.
