Carolyn Joyce Jones

JONES, Carolyn Peterson, 83, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 after an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was born in Greenville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Donald W. Jones; her parents, Opal and V. E. (Pete) Peterson; and one sister, Elois Ellisor. She is survived by two daughters, Terri Head (Thomas) of Montgomery, AL and Pam Gardner (Ron) of Oxford, GA; two grandsons, Jason Gardner (Brittney) and Taylor Head (Jennifer), three granddaughters, Heather Green (Britt), Wendy Gardner and Ashley Cornwall (Michael); and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Jones retired after more than 32 years of service from Alabama Power Company where she worked as an administrative assistant. She was a faithful servant at Eastmont Baptist Church for many, many years where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and led WMU. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Green officiating. Graveside service will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 to 1:00 before the funeral. Pallbearers will be Thomas Head, Jason Gardner, Taylor Head, Michael Cornwall, Caleb Green, Eli Green, Buddy Reeves and Barry McDonald.
