Carolyn (Carol) Brown Calhoun passed away peacefully in Spanish Fort, AL surrounded by her caring family on August 11, 2024, at the age of 78. Carol was born to Edward and Ruth Brown on November 19th, 1945, in Montgomery, AL. After graduating high school, Carol married her high school sweetheart, Wesley marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love and devotion. After Wesley retired, the two traveled America in their “home on wheels”.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her Son - Keith (Lisa) Calhoun. Daughter - Dawn Calhoun. Grandchildren – Abigail, Caleb, Lauren, Gabrielle, Annah, and six great-grandchildren.
Carol will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and strength. As a stay-at-home mother, she dedicated her life to her family, always there with open arms. She was known for her “Heart of Gold”, generous to others first, always willing to help, and loved the open road as they traveled the U.S.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Wesley, her father Edward Paul Brown, and her mother Ruth Martin Brown.
A family and friends visitation for Carol will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109 with family graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following.
