Our beloved mother, Carol Melton, passed away on January 4th at UAB Hospital. In the days before she went to join Dad, her daughters were by her side. She was generous, warm and kind to everyone. She had a deep faith filled with absolute confidence that God was taking care of her, determination and joie de vivre. She volunteered with the prison ministry, tutored children, kept the church nursery, delivered meal on wheels, and went on mission trips well into her eighties. Carol believed in helping others and touched so many lives.
Carol will be deeply missed by her family, church, and friends, whom she loved so much. She is mourned by her daughters and son-in-law: Margaret Ann Player and Anthony and Kathy Musto, her grandchildren whom she adored: John Hunter Player, Jennifer Player, Julie Musto, Evie Musto and Bella Musto, and her many friends.
A simple graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at the White Chapel Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, on Friday morning, December 8, at 9:45. Because of Covid-19, everyone is asked to wear a mask and maintain social distance. She would want to keep everyone safe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of her favorite charities, Heifer International.
