Bonnie Raye Harrell

Bonnie Raye Harrell, age 83, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Bonnie was raised in North Alabama but moved to the Montgomery area around 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Parker and Bonnie Walker Parker; her siblings, Danny Parker and Bobbie Parker; and her husbands, Jerry Taylor and Jim Harrell. Bonnie is survived by her children, Brooks Taylor, Mark Taylor and Angela Forrester; her grandchildren, Lauren Taylor, Lena Taylor, Liam Forrester, and Avery Forrester.

An educator who was active in her church, Vaughn Park Church of Christ, she delighted in helping others. In a hand written note left for her family, Bonnie penned, "I was a tom boy who never broke my daddy's rules." She described herself as one who loved challenges and the only child in her family to work her way through college. In her reflections, she wrote that she always wanted to be a mother. From teaching and cooking to gardening and sewing, her energies were focused on students, friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A family and friends visitation for Bonnie will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
