Amy Ruth Wright, 80, life-long resident of Montgomery, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 26, 2017. Mrs. Wright lived a life of devotion to her family and has been a beacon of love to anyone she touched. Amy was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, class of 1956. She then went to have a long and rewarding 35 year career working for the Alabama Department of Public Safety, where she was beloved by all. After retirement Mrs. Wright enjoyed travelling and spending time with her sons Mac, Jeffrey, and Jonathan, and doting on her grandchildren Joseph, Zachary, Katie, Gilbert, and Arthur, and great grandchildren Ethan and Addyson. She is survived by her husband of 57 ½ years, Ernest Wright. Additional surviving relatives include her sister Sarah Forester of Knoxville, TN, and nieces Dana and Saunya. Those wishing to attend the celebration of Amy’s life may meet at the chapel in the Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11am.
