Wayne Milstead

Edwin Wayne Milstead, Sr., age 82, of Calera passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2023. He was born May 29, 1940, in Calera, Alabama, where he lived most of his life. Wayne spent many years as an avid Ham Radio Operator. He was a long time member of the Calera Masonic Lodge and Providence Baptist Church in Montevallo.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Bessie Milstead; brother, Doug Milstead; stepson, Ronnie Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Milstead; daughters, Amelia Killingsworth (Todd), Cindy Denney (Randy), all of Calera; son, Edwin Milstead (Jan) of Helena; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Adams; brother, Ronnie Milstead (Lucy); a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of ExpectCare Hospice for their compassionate care.

A visitation for Wayne will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home.

Wayne will be laid to rest in Shelby Memory Gardens, 8586 Highway 25, Calera, Alabama 35040.
