Samuel Clifford Payne

Sam was a retired Staff Sergeant from the US Army and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. He was a 37 year member of American Legion and was a member of the Calera Elks Lodge #2703. Sam was also a charter and lifetime member of the Prattville VFW. He was an avid hunter and motorcycle rider.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Payne; brother, Troy Payne (Peggy); fur babies, Maggy Mae Payne and Wishful Thinking Payne and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Payne; and brothers, Butch and Ray Payne.

A visitation for Samuel will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the visitation will be a burial with military honors at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
