Miller, Gary G., 74, Randolph, AL, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Judy Lawley Robinson Miller; daughters, Pamela (Erick) Miller Newman, Seattle, WA, Rhonda Miller Kirby, Prattville; grandchildren, Brian C. (Joy) Kirby, Wetumpka, Hunter K. Kirby, Montgomery, Caitlin A. Kirby, Eugene, OR, Erika and Jack Newman, Seattle; great granddaughter, Sophia Born, Eugene. He is also survived by three step children, Ed Robinson, Mill Valley, CA, Jennifer Robinson, Memphis, TN, and Jeff Robinson, Norcross, GA; three step grandchildren, Avery Robinson, Mill Valley, Jeffrey and Jordan Robinson, Norcross; brothers, Roger (Sandy) Miller, Fred (Kaye) Miller, all of Salina, KS, Myron (Rosie) Miller, Colo Springs, CO; sister, Marilyn (DeVane) Dinkle, Russell, KS; and by his dog, Lady. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Clemmons Miller, parents, Godfred and Alvina Miller, Russell; and two sisters who recently passed away in February: Sharon Miller, Russell, KS and DiAn (Kenneth) Becker, Sylvan Grove, KS. Gary was a member of Randolph Baptist Church where he and Judy enjoyed growing in their faith in the Lord. He was a former member of Frazer UMC in Montgomery. Gary had an amazingly unselfish love, particularly for his daughters and grandchildren, then extending out to others, especially his 92 year old mother-in-law, Alice Lawley. He was loved by everyone who came in contact with him. He was retired from the Army and an avid Auburn fan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015, 1:30 PM, at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, AL. with Bro. Tony Reynolds, his pastor, presiding. Visitation will be Wednesday Evening, 5:00 – 7:00 PM, at Rockco Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:45 PM from the Alabama National Cemetery with full military honors with Bro. Tom Hammett presiding. Pallbearers will be Brian and Hunter Kirby, Ed and Jeff Robinson, and Andrew and Tyler Pair who were neighbors in Montgomery and like his own sons. Honorary pallbearers will be young grandson, Jack Newman, Gary’s SS Class at Randolph, his family, Judy’s family, his first wife’s family and Shawn Scott. No flowers requested, donations may be made to Wesley Gardens Retirement Home, 1555 Taylor Road, Montgomery, AL 36117, where Gary worked 15 years as Dietary Manager; or to Randolph Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 275, Randolph, AL 36792. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Clanton, AL for their amazing care the last three weeks, especially our niece, Anne Taddicken.
