Eleanor worked in banking for most of her adult life. She was a very accomplished seamstress and loved making clothes for family and friends. She was an avid painter and loved watercolors. She loved her kids and grandkids, as we all do, but she would get down on the floor and be a three year old or whatever it took to be part of our lives. Christmas cookies were always a big hit growing up. She made sure we always had what we needed and then some. She was a great one, hugs and kisses until we all meet again.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Irene Mitchell; husband, Ron Fair; by her 9 older brothers and sisters; son, Wayne Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Carrigan (Ralph); son, Daryl Allen (Kay); grandchildren, Katie Newland (Jesse), Braxton Carrigan (Catie), Sarah Heasley (Michael), Kimberly Smith (Landon), and Abby Pikula (Colin); great-grandchildren, Anna Reese Carrigan, Jackson Carrigan, Elijah Heasley, and Kamp Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124 at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2024. Family will receive guests at Southern Heritage Funeral Home after the graveside for refreshments.
