Phyllis June Paige Six
September 9, 1930 to May 11, 2016
Wife, mother, grandmother, educator par excellence, and long-time resident of Glendora, Phyllis was deeply loved by her family, neighbors and countless students. She had a Masters degree in English from Whittier College, Pomona and was bilingual, teaching English as a second language to adults at Pasadena City College in the latter half of her career until she retired. She was an avid reader and collector of the classics – especially British writers - but she dreamed in Spanish, even though English was her native language. Phyllis was born in Claremont, California and lived in Southern California her whole life, but she traveled extensively during the summers across the United States, other regions of the American continent and Europe.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, sons Brian and Neil (Patricia), daughter Laura (Sayre) and five grandchildren.
