It was the beginning of summer 1991, I just graduated high school and I was prepared to begin my military career, however, my girlfriends & I were invited to a party several weeks later...and that's where Mike & I first met. Finally breaking thru his serious demeanor by cracking corny jokes, he laughed with me that night. We became friends first...I remember Mike threw together this last minute party to celebrate my 18th birthday...no one had ever done that for me before...I was in LOVE! As the weeks, months & years went by, we became inseparable. I knew in my heart that this was God's plan, as he went on to bless us with 2 beautiful children, Monica & Michael, both of which Mike named.
Mike was hard working...he always made great connections from body guarding at venues and security to working in the film & video industry, having quite an extensive network in the industry & participating  in events...boy, the stories & rewards he shared with his family, especially taking his kids to any video shoot he could...we got to watch them film a TLC video once! 
Family & friends was important to Mike as he embraced all of mine as well as his own. He treasured the times spent with his little cousins and God-daughter, welcoming them all with open arms. He instilled his knowledge and skills upon his kids, ensuring that they could take care of themselves and teaching them surely what no one else could...but him. 
I thank you Mike, for all the memories I have, thank you for the adventures we had and for the memories you created for our kids. I am forever grateful for you & your family as we were a close unit. We will forever keep Mike near our hearts, forever loving and missing him...and I loved him dearly. Take care of my mama & bro for me...xoxo

To my daddy that I lost too soon

The moment that you died my heart was torn in two. One side filled with heartache and the other died with you. 
My daddy I am sorry, for not talking to you, about all the things in the past that I have done to you. We both have done some things that were very very mean. But at the end of the day we know we loved each other and that didn’t get in between us. 


I often lie awake at night, when the world is fast asleep, then I take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my checks… I try to stay quiet as I proceed to stay strong, all around our loved ones and try to keep moving on… I remember everything, from good to bad but what will always stick with me, is the last few moments that we had.  

Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away! Some times I get mad, for I did not have enough time, cuz I have just got back, my father of mine. I’ll miss our bbqs and all of our crazy talks, but most of all, is the love you gave to your grandson around the clock! You were so proud and so happy to be a grandfather to baby G.  I’ll make sure he knows of you, his grandfather Michael T. 

I hold you tightly within my heart for I do love you with all my heart. 
So proud to call you my dad,for I thank you for the woman I am. You made me so strong, so protective at that, you always checked on me and that’s a fact. You slowly were trying to sew back our love, you did succeed and for that I’ll always love. I can’t write everything as somethings aren’t meant to be said but you and I know that our love is eternal and it goes past the dead… 

Today is my birthday… and I get no call… I miss you so dearly with tears starting to fall. I’m so good at hiding the pain, but it’s killing me your gone and I can’t see you again… but when it’s my time to go I won’t be scared, as I get to see you and grandma and the family once again…. So it’s never a goodbye.. it’s I’LL SEE YOU AGAIN!!

I'll never forget growing up seeing you with your long braid whipping it back and forth. Being at my quincenera dancing and being on the look outlook ensuring we were all safe. You had a big heart primo and strong till the end. Fly high in the heavens above with all our loved ones. 

About My Dad
You’ve taught me everything I know. Everything I know to this day, is because of you.
You taught me how to protect my loved ones, and most importantly how to be a man.
You showed me how to not take everything for granted. You were my Bestfriend and still are. He did everything for me, and we did everything together.
From working out, to showing me how to use guns;  even just cruising during the day with just us two. No one knows me like he did. He was there no matter what, no matter how late it was, and no matter what time. That was my Bestfriend. When he left, I feel like a piece of me left with him. I may be his son, but he was like my brother. You motivated me to be the best version I can be, I adored everything you showed me as a kid, to the man I am now.
You always pushed me to be the greatest I could be. I wouldn’t be in the spot that I’m now without you. I’ll miss the little things like when you taught me how to skateboard, to when we’d BBQ in our backyard and listen to music.
We used to go from my house from city to city, just to go skateboarding. He gave me a childhood with so many memories. That I will cherish to this day. He did so much for me, he showed me the little things that life has to offer. He was the only one I could open up to. He genuinely cared about me. I miss you knocking on my door just to see what I was up to, waking me up and sitting at the end of my bed to see what I wanted for breakfast. Barging into my room to ask if I wanted to go on a ride with him.

All I wanted to say

Michael was born in Arcadia on November 22, 1968, at Methodist Hospital, he was named after the Archangel. 

Shortly after Michael was born, he fell very ill and his lungs collapsed twice. That did not stop Michael from becoming a strong man who would lift 100-pound weights in each hand and do about 100 reps at a time.

Michael was an Armed Security Guard and was a hard worker. He would work any shift provided to him, day or night. He enjoyed protecting people. 

Michael had a big heart and deeply loved his family, and friends. He would check up on you to make sure you were ok. 

Michael enjoyed eating all types of good food and would share where to go to enjoy a great meal. He always enjoyed a good BBQ. He loved being the cook at his children’s birthday parties or at our family reunions. He would wake up early to secure the park for us and stay there the entire day and loved seeing everyone. 

He was a fitness advocate to the end. Even in his hospital bed he would do his reps and encourage everyone else to do the same.

He had a hearty laugh which was contagious. 

One of his favorite holidays was the 4th of July. He would purchase the largest package available and set them off through the entire evening. 

I will miss you my dear baby brother, rest in peace with Mom and our family in Heaven.
