His life in Union County centered around family and his farm. He bred and raised award winning Appaloosa horses, Dexter cows, and with his wife, an AKC judge, he raised Newfoundland dogs and Australian Shepherds. He founded the Greater Monroe Kennel Club in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Donna Eichel and stepson Richard. Ron is survived by his wife; stepdaughter Kris (Arch); grandchildren Jakob, Jessica, Brook (Jake), Brittany (Brock); his great-grandchildren, Max, Myles and Willow; sister, Barbara Dean and numerous nieces and nephews.
