Born on March 28, 1927 in Union County, she was the daughter of William Thomas and Fannie Smith Mullis.
Mrs. Williams was the former owner of Williams Exxon Service and Williams Wrecker Service in Matthews, NC until she retired to become a caregiver to her late husband.
She will be remembered for her giddy sense of humor, telling it like it is, and the best breakfast in Union County. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roland A. Williams; son, Eddie R. Williams; daughter, Sharon K. Hasty; her three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Baylee Hartis and Jennifer Emery for their love and care of Mrs. Kate.
The family will receive friends from 11:15am until 12:00pm Saturday, October 8, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Williams will begin at 12:00pm in McEwen Funeral Home’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Michael Cummings officiating. A committal service will follow in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Kate Williams.
