A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:00pm to 2:30pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, 204 S. Main Str., Monroe, NC. Her memorial service will follow at 2:30pm. Burial will be at a later date in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Born August 10, 1943 in Union County, she is preceded in death by her parents James C. Starnes and Ruby H. Starnes and her twin brother Jimmy Dale Starnes.
She was a teacher in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, retiring after 30 years of service. She lived in Monroe, NC, her entire life. She was blessed to have beloved friends and neighbors.
