Mr. Javis William Caudle

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Javis (Jaybird) William Caudle, on Saturday April 13, 2024 at age 93 with his family by his side. Javis was born on August 18, 1930 in Union County to the late Harvey and Sarah Thomas Caudle. He resided in Monroe, NC. He was self employed as a mechanic and owned C&C Service.

Javis was a light in our lives and everyone that he came in contact with. He loved deer hunting, spending time outside and bowling. He was an accomplished gardener, who was always willing to share his vegetables with anyone that wanted them. He went through life cracking jokes and constantly making people smile.

In addition to his parents, Javis was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Caudle and daughter Anne Cathey. Survivors include his daughter Frances Caudle Montague and husband Howard, son Dennis Mills, son-in-law Eddie Cathey, companion Frances Smith, canine baby boy Alfie, brothers Wilson and Curtis, grandchildren Shannon (Sarah), Andrea (Mike), Tyler (Emily), Tate, Chandler (Kailee), Jacquelyn (Jacob), and great grandchildren Emily, Carson, Hunter, Logan, Sydnee, Preston, Trevor, Adeline, Caiden and Kace.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday April 17th, 2024 from 5pm – 7pm at McEwen Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin April 18th, 2024 at 11am at McEwen Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, followed by the graveside services at Lakeland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Council on Aging in Union County, NC.
