Janet was born on March 3, 1954, daughter of the late Lois Lowery and Burdette Parker in Union County, NC. Janet and Mitchell Starnes were united in marriage September 22, 1974 at Trinity Baptist Church, Monroe, NC.
Janet was preceded in death by sons TJ and Casey Starnes; her sister, Laura Parker and her brother, Bert Parker.
Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Starnes; son, Tim and wife, Julia Starnes; grandchildren, Ethan and Gabriel Starnes and Joanna Burns; sisters, Sandy and husband, Steve Moon, Betty Somers and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her passing leaves a void in our lives.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Lee Park Baptist Church.
