Georgie Lee Clontz Edwards age: 93, wife of the late John T. Edwards, of Monroe passed away on November 27, 2024. Georgie was born on June 8, 1931 in Monroe to Van Buren Clontz and Telia Taylor Clontz.
She graduated and attended Fairview School in 1949. Mrs. Edwards was retired from Union County Public Schools. She was a member of High Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons: Odell Edwards and his wife Teresa of Monroe, and Steve Edwards and his wife Pam of Monroe, and son-in-law Bob Ansley of Shallotte, NC. She has 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Jack, and her daughter, Glenda Edwards Ansley.
In lieu of flowers/or/Memorial donations in her memory may also be made to High Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
A celebration of life service was held on November 30, 2024 at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 2 PM in the High Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
