She was a military wife for over 20 years traveling the world with her husband and children. She took that love of world travel and later enjoyed cruising the ocean with her family on many vacations. She faithfully worked for many years as a grocery store manager and deli manager at Bi-Lo until she retired. She treasured her family especially her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Louise Hargett; one brother, Steve Pinyan; and one sister, Diane Gebbia. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 47 years, Matt Lathe; son, Chris Hargett (April); and daughter, Candy Hunt (James); one sister, Rhonda Helms; one brother, Edward Hargett; grandchildren, Andy, Amber, Jessica, Victoria, Denzel, Diamond, T’Anna, Makayla, and L.J.; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Good News Baptist Church located at 3009 Medlin Road in Monroe, North Carolina. A potluck reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers contributions and memorials can be made to Good News Baptist Church, 3009 Medlin Road, Monroe, NC, 28112.
