David Spence

David “Bear” Paul Spence age 59, passed away at his home in Monroe, surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. He was born September 23, 1958 in Adrian, Michigan to Paul Alvin Spence and Joyce Ann Kirchner. David attended Monroe High School for his general education and received HVAC licensing training from Central Piedmont Community College. In 1979 David was blessed with the birth of his son David “Rusty” Russell Spence and in 2002 David met Debbie Wilson. The two would marry on November 28, 2003. For over 30 years, David loved his worked as a commercial and residential HVAC specialist. His expertise was well known and highly sought after, leading him to become a prominent figure in his community. In his leisure time, David was an avid drone hobbyist and amateur photographer. His hobbies earned him a reputation due to the amount of equipment and gear he always seemed to have.

David is survived by his wife Debbie Wilson Spence, his son Rusty Spence, his step-son Matt Kiker, his father Paul A. Spence, his mother Joyce Milton, his step-grandson Cameron Kiker, his step-mother Martha Spence, and his brothers Bob and Tim Spence. Funeral Services will take place at Love Baptist Church in Monroe, North Carolina on Sunday, November 26 at 3:00pm. Visitation for family will begin at 2:00pm.
