To the Rainey Family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I just read this now on facebook.  I grew up with Tom and the Rainey's, was one of his best friends spending just about every day traveling to and from our houses, playing and growing up together all the way through High School.  He was one of the most driven people I ever knew and still look to for perserverance when something in my life is a little harder to get through.  I remember him never giving up his dream to go to Notre Dame and dedicating himself to achieve that goal.  I consider myself lucky to have grew up with Tommy.  Tommy, me, Geoff Grider, and Barbar Hegner were inseperable playing till dark. Once again, I along with my four boys and wife off our sympathy to you.  Paul Bonner

Tom was a gift to all who were graced to have known him.  He leaves us all with happy, enduring memories, and I am blessed for having known him. Word of his passing leaves a hole in my heart. I just heard from the Howmedica family about the passing of Tom. When Tom was a Product Manager with Howmedica , he would come to Little Rock and work with my sales rep and myself and we became fast friends. I remember taking him trout fishing on the Little Red River and enjoying his company.  I know how much he loved his family and will keep all of you in my prayers.

To the Rainey family - I also worked with Tom at Howmedica for many years.  We were especially close, both being responsible for knee implant product lines and both reporting to the same manager. It was with much chagrin that I learned the news about Tom. I very recently returned from a 13-year stay in Europe and was looking forward to seeing some of my old friends from Howmedica. It has been that long since I have know, Tom -- such a dynamic and competent fellow ... fun loving too, but discreet. 

I will continue to remember Tom from those 'good ole days'. Those were the days in which it was a joy to go to work.  And, that was in part because I had the pleasure of working and collaborating with Tom.

I knew Tom while living in NYC. He was always a breath of fresh air and a feeling of safe haven. Always heard about his family who which he loved so, so much and was always so devoted too. Because of your love I got to experience my first (very long) Catholic Mass Wedding including the stop at the corner bar on the way to the reception. I was Lucky to work with Tom twice in my career, I thoroughly enjoyed his wit and his knowledge.

Tom and I used to tease each other when it came to our love of college football. Tom was a Notre Dame guy, while I am a USC guy. He teased as good as he got.
