It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Thomas Angelo Pellicano, who died on June 5th at the age of 59 after a rigorous battle with cancer. Anyone who knew Tom would attest to his relentless determination, fighting furiously right to the end. Although difficult to continue without him, it is a great joy to know that he has gone towards his eternal peace in Christ.
He was a strong man, supported by an even stronger wife, Anne. Tom loved her with a devotion that few can comprehend and all revere. He was incredibly proud of his children; Kaitlin, Brian, and daughter-in-law Natalia. Tom was elated to welcome his first grandchild, Joseph, who entered his life mere months before his passing. He is also survived by his sister, Lori, brother John, sister in law, Barbara and a loving extended family. Although hesitant to call it “work”, Tom deeply loved his construction and contracting career through Grandview Homes - the company he built from the ground up.
Upon his diagnosis, Tom zealously adopted the mantra, “take this opportunity to inspire others.” He firmly believed that God could yield goodness and value from any situation and that through his faith in Christ, he was emboldened to selflessly serve others. He used his unfortunate circumstances to humbly encourage everyone he encountered, leading to his founding of the Cancer Support Group at his church, which will continue strongly in his absence.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, who Tom often quoted, “Don’t be sad that it’s over, smile because it happened.” Tom is undoubtedly watching over us and would urge us to remain joyful for his presence in our lives and remember him always.

Gallagher Community Funeral Home at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468 on Sunday, June 10th from 2-6pm for a wake service. The funeral service will take place at St. Rose of Lima Parish at 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470 on June 11th at 10:30AM.
