Robert "Bob" Anthony Jevarjian

He was born on December 18, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Virginia (Krikorian) Jevarjian and Anthony Jevarjian. Bob grew up in Norwalk, where he attended Norwalk High School, shining as a scholar-athlete in football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. He pursued his passion for history at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree while competing on the tennis team. His love for education led him to Fairfield University, where he earned a Master’s degree in American Studies.

Returning to his alma mater, Bob shared his enthusiasm for history by teaching at Norwalk High School. In the late 1970s, he embraced a new journey in insurance sales, finding his niche in title insurance. For over 27 years, he dedicated himself to this field, working with several esteemed companies, including American Title, Commonwealth Title, Fidelity National, and Old Republic, until he retired.

In 1971, Bob and Kathy began their beautiful life together in Shelton, where they lovingly raised their family. Bob’s commitment to his community was unwavering; he was actively involved in the Shelton Democratic Town Committee and even ran for State Representative in the 113th district in 1986. His faith played a significant role in his life as he actively participated in St. Lawrence Church in Huntington, serving on the parish council , the men’s club, and conducting Pre-Cana classes alongside Kathy, guiding many couples through their journey of love.

He was a dedicated husband and father and left a lasting impression on those whose lives he touched. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to be surrounded by family and friends.

A devoted father and coach, Bob passionately supported his children in Shelton Little League baseball, recreational softball, and various basketball teams, always cheering them on from the sidelines. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren attending their games and events, when he was able.

Bob's contributions extended to the Shelton Parks and Recreation Committee, where he worked to enhance community activities. He also served as a board member for the Christian Counseling and Family Life Center, and was a valued member of the Bridgeport Rotary Club and the Elks Club in Derby.

A die-hard Yankees fan, Bob found joy in watching sports, whether attending games or cheering from home. His love for football sparked lively conversations about the Giants and Eagles with his son-in-law and sons. He cherished his time as an avid golfer, being a member of Mill River Country Club in Stratford from 1994 to 2004. His passion for golf brought him on many golf trips with his friends to the Poconos and Myrtle Beach. For many years he was dedicated to raising money and getting sponsors for the Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament in memory of his late cousin, Daryl Jevarjian. He attended many golf tournaments with his children, who inherited his love for the game. Family vacations to Cape Cod, Florida, and Virginia Beach, as well as memorable cruises to Bermuda and Alaska with Kathy, brought him immense happiness.

Bob leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Sekerak), and their loving children: Carrie (Shawn) Tait, Lauren (Marc) Roberto, Robert (Cynthia) Jevarjian, Dana (Andy) Jevarjian, and Christopher (Ashley) Jevarjian. He will be profoundly missed by his grandchildren: Olivia, Brayden, Sophia, Ava, Ty, Sadie, and Remi, who fondly referred to him as “Poppy.” Bob is also survived by his sister, Jean Krumlauf (Lyle) of Florida, and his cherished aunt, Dorothy Noreiks, who had a sisterly bond with him, along with his uncle Richard Noreiks.He was predeceased by his son-in-law Matthew Bailey, and his four legged canine Casey.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors and nurses at Hartford Healthcare Hospital, the dedicated staff at Cambridge Health Center, and the wonderful team from Constellation Hospice Care who provided exceptional support during Bob’s final days. Their care and compassion brought comfort to Bob and his family during this difficult journey.

Friends and Family are invited to calling hours on Monday November 25th from 4 - 7pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home at 315 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe, CT 06468. A Funeral Service will be directly at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Huntington, CT 06484 on Tuesday November 26th. Burial will be private.
