Maria Yolanda Guizzo was born in Canelones, Uruguay in 1934, to Amanda Aguiar and Juan Perez.
Yolanda’s greatest accomplishments revolve around her work ethic and her belief in the love and strength of family. As a young lady in Uruguay, she left school early to assist her family with their farmland. As an adult, Yolanda worked tirelessly at a variety of meat packing companies including Hebrew National and Boar’s Head to ensure her children had the best education and childhood possible.
As a mother and wife, she built a home filled with love and support that focused on unity. No matter what the situation, including the early passing of her husband, Nelson Guizzo, in 1989, the family made it through by sticking together. These qualities, which live in her children, are her legacy. Her children, grandchildren, and family never spent a day wondering if they were loved or supported; they knew.
Maria Yolanda, is survived by her loving family Rossana, Doreen, Gabriela, Marcelo, Carolina, Sophia, Olivia, the dogs (Raven, Sid, Gussy,Wiley) and all the crazy birds she loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to necessitiesbag.org in Maria Yolanda Guizzo’s honor. http://www.necessitiesbag.org/donations.php
