Barbara Derwallis

Barbara Jane Stevenson Derwallis of Trumbull CT passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2021 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her late husband of 50 years Jerome Derwallis. Barbara was born on October 18, 1937 in Floral Park NY. She moved to Trumbull as a teenager and attended Bassick High School. She received her BSRN from the University of Bridgeport College of Nursing in 1959. She started her nursing career as a visiting nurse in the town of Fairfield CT, later becoming a school nurse for the town of Fairfield and Trumbull public school systems.

Barbara stayed active through the years playing tennis and golf as a member of the Newtown Country Club. Barbara was truly a die hard Mets fan - through it all.

In her later years, what Barbara enjoyed the most was spending time with all of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses - Timothy and Joanne Derwallis of Fairfield CT, Amy and John Van Dell of Foxboro MA, Lori and Byron Branning of Trumbull CT and Jeffrey Derwallis and Alison Tavares of Apache Junction AZ, seven grandchildren and spouses, and two great granddaughters.

Services will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son in Monroe CT from 2-4pm on Friday December 31, 2021.
