Catherine A. Powell

Cathi is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Patrick P. Powell (Pat); her beloved children Phillip (Misty) Powell, Joseph (Rebecca) Powell and Heather (Nicki) Powell; cherished grandchildren Riley, Aidan and Hunter; siblings Cindy Thomas, Michael Martin, Donna Powell, Mary Langreder, Patricia Harrington and Becky Martin; and dearest nephew, Brandon Smith. She is further survived by an abundance of nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas Martin, Sr. and Jenny Martin and brothers Tommy Martin and Timmy Martin.

Cathi was a beautiful, caring and generous soul. Her life revolved around her family, whom she loved fiercely and with her whole heart. She also held a special place in her heart for all the dogs she loved and cared for over the years, most recently her dog Jax.

Cathi liked to engage with her community and neighbors and enjoyed a variety of activities throughout her life. Cathi had many interests and hobbies, some of which include sewing, crafts, reading, cooking and baking. However, one of Cathi’s favorite pastimes was fishing. Cathi and her family spent decades fishing together, including the cherished tradition of traveling to Fremont to fish on the Wolf River during the spring and fall bass runs. When Cathi and Pat retired, they decided to make Fremont their home. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park (24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL), with a Chapel Service beginning at 5:00 P.M. Pastor Randy Roberts officiating. For information please call 708-534-8256
