Mr. Travis Eugene "Gene" McGowan passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 14, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Ida Markham McGowan, sister, Christine Peeples, and two brothers, Wilburn and Roy McGowan. Mr. McGowan retired after over 38 years as a Diesel Technician with Cummins Alabama. Mr. McGowan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nona Loewen McGowan, sons, Ronald McGowan (Shawnta) and Scott McGowan (Amy). He is also survived by his grandson, Justin McGowan, sister Maylene Barlow, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 12 noon.
