Thomas Richard Tew Jr.

Thomas R. Tew, Jr. of Georgetown, AL passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Mr. Tew was a proud resident of the Georgetown Community for over fifty years. He retired after 32 years as an Installer-Repairman with Bell South. He served honorably from 1948-1955 in the U.S. Marine Corps, ending his career as a Sergeant. He served in both the Korean War and Malaysian Conflict. Mr. Tew held dear his wife and children and was a lover of hunting, fishing and his dogs. He will be remembered by his constant smile and a good joke.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Grace Scheuermann Tew. Mr. Tew leaves to cherish his memories four children; Thomas R. Tew, III (Cecee), Matthew A. Tew, Michael R. Tew and Mary E. Tew Long; five grandchildren; Thomas R. Tew, IV, Haleigh Tew, Michelle Tew, Thomas M. Long, III and Mary Georgana Long.

The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, June 7, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 8, 2013, beginning at 10:A.M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Lott Cemetery in Georgetown, AL.
