Roscoe was born in Mobile to Margaret Greer and Roscoe Curtis Wentworth, Jr. Roscoe was a beloved pastor for over 60 years across the United States and devoted his life to teaching the Gospel and the love of Christ to everyone he came into contact with. In his spare time, he was an avid Alabama football fan and he was a huge chocolate lover. He also loved mountains- looking at them that is.
Roscoe was preceded in death by his father Roscoe Curtis Wentworth Jr. and his mother Margaret Greer; his brother Robert A. Wentworth.
Roscoe is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 35 years, Alice Smith Wentworth; his devoted daughters; Cathi Wentworth, Chrissi Cox (Bobby), and Amanda Carter (Chuck); his sister Evalyn Wentworth; his beloved and adored grandchildren; Alyssa Mercer, Carter Hewett, Madison Cox, Avery Hewett ,Kaitlyn Cox, his great-granddaughter Stella Hewett, and a host of other family, friends, and parishioners whose lives Roscoe touched dearly.
A visitation for Roscoe will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Government Street Baptist Church, 3401 Government Blvd, Mobile, AL, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Roscoe will be laid to rest in Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers are Lindsey Turner, David Bohannon, Bobby Cox, Bruce Mcleod, Dustin Mcleod, Lance Wentworth, Kevin Wentworth, Rich Coley, Carter Hewett and Robby Wentworth.
