Rollie Dean Christian - a 76 year-old native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Mr. Christian was a veteran of the United States Navy. As a young man, he was a self-employed contract painter. He was also a former member of the Mobile Fire Department and retired from the Mobile Area Water and Sewer Service as the manager of the Meyer Plant after 10 years of service. Mr. Christian was also a longtime member and Deacon of Wilmer Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie and Ruby Joice Christian, and brothers, Charlie Christian, Zollie Dale Christian, and Benny Christian. Mr. Christian is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kay Christian; sister, Helen Wright (Ralph); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Wilmer Baptist Church on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be held in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mission of Hope, 14970 Mission Rd., Mobile, AL 36608.
